Electrician – Street Lighting

37hours per week (working any 5 out of 7 days – also working on call out rota)

Salary – Grade 6 Sc. 22 to 27 (£27668 - £31601) Plus standby and callouts.

We have a position working within the Street Lighting Team, based at our Culwell Street Depot.

The Street Lighting Team is responsible for all street lighting, illuminated traffic signs, first line maintenance of traffic signals, maintenance of other Council electrical infrastructure and Christmas Decorations throughout the City of Wolverhampton.

You will hold City and Guilds 236 Electrical Parts 1 and 2 or equivalent and have a LGV driving licence. Additionally you will have experience in the maintenance, testing and renewal of street lighting and other highway electrical systems. A positive attitude towards service delivery is an essential requirement for this position.

You should be computer literate, have the ability to work under pressure in an outdoor environment and work well both on your own and within a team.

You will also be required to work as part of a rota system to provide 24 hours, seven days a week emergency attendance cover. You may also be required to work as part of a rota system to provide 24 hours, seven days a week emergency attendance for the Winter Service.

Interviews will be taking place week commencing the 8th May 2017
