How we work

Warwickshire Disability offers overnight residential short breaks to children 5-17 with severe learning difficulties and complex needs. The aim of the project is to achieve positive outcome for young people by promoting personal and social development as well as making a positive a positive difference to families by supporting parents.

How you’ll make a difference:

Work directly with children and young people including undertaking personal care tasks. Also light household duties throughout the night, in between checking young people. Working hours will be 10 hours per week on a Saturday waking night 21.30-07.30

What you’ll need:

  • Good understanding of the needs of children with severe learning disabilities.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety.
  • Effective communication skills. VQL3 (Social Care) or equivalent is required for the post, and candidates must be willing to undertake this qualification.
