Lawnswood Campus Pupil Referral Units
Leadership 4 to 7
Lawnswood Campus is home to 4 Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) serving schools and the City of Wolverhampton. The aim of all 4 Centres is to work with students who find mainstream schooling a challenge and provide opportunities to help them make their next steps more positive.
We work together, with schools and other professionals, to reduce barriers to learning and provide individualised programmes that meet the needs of our students.
Lawnswood Campus is committed to excellence. We enable learning by providing a rich and meaningful curriculum targeting students’ personalised needs. We aim to help our students overcome social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH) in order to manage their behaviour and make considered choices.
The Nightingale Centre is a specialist short stay Centre that works in partnership with key agencies to offer appropriate intervention to vulnerable students with medical and mental health needs in a supportive and structured setting.
The Orchard Centre provides full time education for students in Key Stage 3 and 4 who require social, emotional or mental health (SEMH) support. We also welcome referrals for students with medical needs which result in difficulties in accessing mainstream education.
The Midpoint Centre is a Pupil Referral Unit for Key Stage 4 pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. The Centre gives a full time education with excellent facilities, where students can take advantage of opportunities given to them to improve their life chances.
The Braybrook Centre is a Key Stage 3 Pupil Referral Unit for young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. We do not only cater for students who are at risk or have been permanently excluded from mainstream school but also focus on early intervention.
The Inclusion Centre will offer up to 10 places for students across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4. It is designed to deliver bespoke programmes of study in collaboration with the referrer. It is able to offer a full time, short term intervention for those students who may have a long fixed term exclusion or be awaiting acceptance at another establishment. Specialist support from all of the services available at Lawnswood Campus will be part of the provision on offer.
We require an enthusiastic, innovative and experienced senior leader to work both across the Campus and to operate as Assistant Headteacher.
You should have:
- experience of working with students with SEMH and particularly challenging behaviour
- a proven track record of driving developments in Teaching and Learning and school improvement
- evidence of having held a middle/senior leadership role as you will play a major role at Lawnswood Campus
It would be beneficial for you to visit the Centre in order to assist your application and we will be holding an open evening on Tuesday 2 May, 2017, this will commence at 4pm. To confirm your attendance please telephone 01902 558102.
