Teacher of Mathematics
Wednesfield High Specialist Engineering Academy is situated in the north-east area of Wolverhampton. There are approximately 875 students attending the academy which includes 150 who are in the Sixth Form. Since September 2004 the academy has held Engineering College status. There are links with other secondary schools and with the University. We are also the lead school in Wolverhampton for Jaguar Land Rover and their new engineering plant on the i54. There are mixtures of large and small classrooms, learning zones and theatre style spaces for teaching. The majority are designated to take 30 students although some will only take ten which allow us to cater for a variety of subjects, themes and independent learning. We are a very ambitious academy with exciting plans for our new building to transfer the education of young people and the community of Wednesfield in the future. We have a committed, talented team of staff who work exceptionally hard to ensure the success and enjoyment of students at Wednesfield High Specialist Engineering Academy.
Governors are seeking to appoint a talented, energetic and inspiring teacher of Mathematics. The successful candidate will have a proven track record for raising both attainment and achievement in Mathematics. They will be able to inspire colleagues and students and offer fresh ideas, as well as being resourceful and keen to achieve the highest possible standards for our young people.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a secure understanding about how disadvantaged students in mathematics can make progress and achieve outcomes comparable with national.

A relevant degree and QTS
Must be able to teach mathematics at key stage 3 and 4.
It is desirable for experience of key stage 5
Experience of strategies / interventions to assist disadvantaged students to make good progress
Passion for maths and enjoy working with young people
Establish successful relationships at all levels

Demonstrate appropriate inter-personal skills
Ability to prioritise time effectively
