We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated, confident, and competent individual who is enthusiastic and committed to making people safe, to join a new team of Safer Communities Outreach Officers. You will have excellent negotiation and communication skills as well as a flair for problem solving and managing conflict.

You should have existing experience in working in a customer service environment, and experience of working within enforcement/ASB environment. You will also need to be committed to working towards, or be eligible to become, accredited in The Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS).

The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating, gathering and recording information accurately in order to assess and take appropriate action against a wide range of alleged breaches in ASB control.

As a uniformed authorised Officer, you will work as part of a team responsible for acting as ambassador for the area. You will undertake regular patrols, liaising with members of the public, local businesses and other partners, providing reassurance and the feeling of safety for all. You will be issuing Fixed Penalty Notices to those that break the law as part of the evidence gathering processes.

You will enforcing the compliance to Public Space Protection Orders in specific parts of the borough and tackling anti-social behaviour, environmental issues across the Dudley Borough. You will utilise a range of enforcement and engagement methods on an engage, educate, encourage and enforce basis. You will be proactive in dealing with  ASB, dropping and leaving litter, fly tipping, alcohol consumptions in public spaces and more. You will be working with a wide range of Council teams, stakeholders including the Police  to create a safer, cleaner place for communities to live, work and play.

Building trust and respect with Community Safety partners, stakeholders and the public is key to our success and our reputation. For those with the right character, this represents an exciting opportunity to grow and develop along with the service. The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring visitors and residents feel safe in our Borough.
