Class Teacher (Fixed Term) - The Federation of Abbey Infant and Junior School
Come and join our teaching team, ready for September 2017. Choose to move to a school that will support your career development. We really want the right person, someone who will fit into our school. There is so much good and innovative practice happening here that you would be mad not to pop in for a visit to see if this post is the one for you.
We are determined to have a quality appointment. This vacancy is ideal for either an NQT or someone already with a proven track record in raising standards as a high quality classroom teacher. You are likely to be an NQT or early in your career, possibly with a very positive NQT induction completed.
We are a three-form entry school, A Federated Infant & Junior, judged Good at our last Ofsted. Our unique characteristics as a school are our commitment to Irresistible Learning which puts a creative curriculum at the heart of learning. All around our lovely school you will see creative and engaging displays. We have a culture of collaborative learning and utilise ‘Talk for Writing’ to create lively age appropriate writing opportunities. If we can make learning fun, then we do. We are fully up and running with ‘Assessment Without Levels’ system. This is embedded throughout the school – measuring progress and attainment with a clear benchmark of achievement. Our assessment systems are effective and manageable and a real school strength. There is a wealth of in-house experience to support your development.
Each phase is led by an AHT and we will ensure that your induction into our learning culture is supportive and immersive. We are extremely proud of our safeguarding and day to day practice around school, keeping children safe; and working with families. You will really feel that what you do on a daily basis is highly positive, and makes a difference to children’s lives.
We so want the ‘right’ person and are willing to be patient until we get them. We are therefore seeking, first and foremost, a committed and talented teacher who is able to deliver consistently 'good' lessons for our pupils. The successful candidate will be joining a school that is forward thinking and the place to develop their future career. You must have a passion for teaching and learning and being the best you can beyond. This post is not suitable for a supply teacher; as we need a proven record of raising standards within primary. Ideally you will have experience of urban Local Authorities such as Sandwell and an understanding of the range of diverse needs that affect school life.
We are proud of our school and we offer a vibrant and stimulating learning environment. We really do have the most fantastic pupils with excellent behaviour and attitudes to learning. As a staff team, we are always looking at ways to support work life balance.
We welcome and encourage any interested candidates to come and visit our school. So please do contact the school office to arrange a visit.
Application packs can be downloaded from the Local Authority website. All completed applications must be returned either by post or delivered directly to the school office. Interested applicants can contact the school on 0121 429 2700
