An opportunity has become available to join the Information Security & Assurance Team on as a full-time Security and Information Risk Advisor (Band D).

In this role you will be responsible for managing the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Police information, and the non-repudiation of systems. Although primarily working to deliver projects securely and in a business-centric way, you will also provide ad-hoc advice, and work with external partners. You will be working with all levels of the business to promote good practice, and manage information risk effectively.

The ideal candidate must be:

  • Able to analyse possible outcomes and make logical decisions with reference to HMG guidance, local policy, and industry best practice
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and a strong communicator
  • Flexible and business focussed
  • Able to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines

Technical experience is not required for this role, but a general understanding of the technical elements of cyber security, and/or a general understanding of computers / networking is preferred. This can be learnt with the right mind set, and will be taught when in position.

The role has been identified as ‘agile’.
