You will lead, develop and manage the traded and funded activities of Coventry Music, alongside its role as Lead Organisation of the Coventry Music Education Hub. This includes:

• working in partnership with schools to provide a high-quality, broad and balanced curriculum which seeks to enrich the lives of children and young people in Coventry
• establishing and maintaining an effective trading business model and overseeing the implementation of a business development strategy

You’ll need:

• a relevant professional qualification at graduate level

• experience of working at a senior level within the Music Education sector

• an understanding of the delivery requirements and expectations of The National Plan for Music Education (Henley 2012)

• the ability to manage the demands of varying partnerships and stakeholders

Coventry Music is an organisation within the People Directorate of Coventry City Council and is the major provider of music provision across the city for children and young people.

Coventry Music is the Lead Organisation for the Coventry Music Education Hub which exists, with a range of partners, to deliver the aims of the National Plan for Music Education (2012).

We provide music tuition across the city for children and young people. This work includes Whole Class Ensemble Tuition, Instrumental tuition, out of school ensembles and music performance opportunities.

We want to attract applicants who are enthusiastic and highly motivated in developing a successful, cost effective Music service that maximises the Music Education Grant.
