Are you interested in Video imaging? If so we are looking for you to come and join our Video Imaging team within Forensic services.   Working as part of a team you will be responsible for the forensic recovery, process management and presentation of images recovered from CCTV systems, both Digital and Analogue.  Full training and mentoring will be given to help you develop in this role.


a) To provide a complete video editing service, including the production of edited sequences, still images, video enhancement and copy facilities to a high standard, to assist investigating officers within the WMP and other specific external agencies including the CPS.   

b) To undertake the recovery of Digital and CCTV imagery from Scenes

c) Liaise with Forensic Scene Investigators and SIO’s at crime scenes giving guidance to enable recovery of CCTV Imagery.

d) To assist in the production of Forensic Audio Enhancement under the guidance of the Forensic Audio Specialists.

This is an ideal opportunity to join a pioneering team that has to adapt to the ever-changing technology used in CCTV security systems. As a VIO you will play a vital role in how CCTV images are used to investigate Serious Crime within the West Midlands.

We are looking for a dynamic individual who has an understanding of working with video imagery. An understanding of both the hardware and software used within digital systems is desirable. You will be expected to work on your own initiative, producing high quality work to strict deadlines. The continual growth in Digital CCTV systems will often stretch the resources within the Video Imaging team. You should be able to work under pressure and be able deal with a heavy workload, one you have completed your training.

Essential requirements:

a)    A good working knowledge of video enhancement systems and techniques.

b)    ONC or equivalent in an appropriate subject or 3 years of experience working on video editing systems, Digital and Analogue.

c)    Understanding of CCTV/Network systems

d)    Proven experience in the use of computer software and hardware

e)    Be knowledgeable of the ISO 17025 standard and ACPO Principles of Digital Evidence.
