Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, Rugby Borough Council, Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council are looking for suitably qualified and experienced people to act as independent persons under the standards regime for local councils. The independent persons help the councils to promote and maintain high standards of conduct among councillors and co-opted member of the councils and parish councils in the area.
The Role
(Voluntary, but reasonable travel expenses will be paid)
The main role of the independent person will be to give their views on allegations of misconduct about councillors and co-opted members. Independent persons may also be consulted by members who are the subject of an allegation of misconduct.
We are looking for individuals with a strong interest in promoting and maintaining high standards of ethical conduct in public life, who can bring their expertise and knowledge to this important and challenging role.
