The Role

*The majority of drivers will require a category D1 licence, but on occasion will need a PSV licence, and sometimes a category C licence and no more than 6 penalty points. This will be discussed with the recruiting manager if you are invited to interview.
You will work as part of a team with the Passenger Assistant assigned to the route who attends to individual needs whilst travelling. You are required to develop and maintain good communication with the Passenger Assistant, passengers and all members of the public.
You will need to carry out Safety checks on the minibus prior to collection and drive in a safe manner at all times. You will also assist with movement of passengers including potential use of tail lift and wheelchair securing as required. You will carry out basic administration, clean the minibus and fill the minibus with fuel when required.
The role involves driving a minibus on a split shift to safely transport individuals to their destination in the morning and return them home in the afternoon.

As a driver, you will be required to have:
- Training as provided.
- Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Demonstrated evidence of experience driving appropriate vehicles.
- Due to the nature of the work a criminal record check via the DBS disclosure service will also be required.
Candidates are required to successfully complete a County Council driving assessment prior to interview.
