Salary: £41,278.08 - £48,354.32 Hours of Work: Full-time (all year round)
Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays 38 hours p/w**

About Us
Discovery Academy is a relatively new setting in Nuneaton catering for children with social, emotional and mental health needs and / or autism, aged between 9 years and 19 years. MacIntyre Academies is sponsored by MacIntyre Charity, which over the last 50 years, has developed a strong reputation nationally, as a high quality, person centred organisation.
We are currently recruiting for a commercially focused Business Manager to join our team.
The Role
Reporting to the Principal you will be responsible for the leadership and management of all non-academic areas of the school including finance, administration, facilities, IT, security, health & safety, transport and maintenance. There is a member of the Trust Strategic Team that also has oversight of these aspects across all our schools and you will work closely with them, being mutually supportive and driving provision forwards.
You will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders to successfully deliver the vision, ethos, aims and objectives of the academy. You will develop and maintain key relationships with local authorities, suppliers and regulatory bodies. You will oversee the schools duty for responding to consultations for placements and ensuring that appropriate agreements are in place for all pupils placed in our school. Within your bursary role you will (together with the trust finance manager) produce accounts and conduct audits in line with the Trust’s financial policies and procedures and report to the Executive Principal and the local advisory board of the school on income and expenditure.
About You
You will hold a degree level qualification or equivalent and have demonstrative experience of accounts and cash flow forecasts in a commercial or Academy environment. Experience of leadership and management of a multi-disciplinary team is essential and you will have general management and specialist experience in at least one bursarial function. Experience in school finances using SIMS / FMS or equivalent would be desirable. A knowledge of PSF systems would be desirable.
