About Brunswick Place

Brunswick Place is part of the Children's Residential Service based in Stafford.  It is a 4 bedded service that provides short breaks and outreach for young people between the ages of 11-17 who are on the edge of care. 

 

Main Responsibilities

We provide a safe, nurturing environment for children and young people where every day is different.  We offer them a variety of new activities and experiences, promote positive friendships and provide emotional support.   You will need to work on your own initiative, manage a team of staff and be able to deal with demanding and challenging situations. This role can require a high level of resilience and flexibility but is also very rewarding.

The Ideal Candidate

To this role you'll bring

  • 2 years experience in working with children in a residential setting
  • experience of working at senior level in a residential setting
  • a minimum of NVQ/QCF level 3 in Caring for Young People 
  • a NVQ4 in care or a willingness to complete the qualification if appointed

Please note on occasion in residential care there is a need to only accept applicants from a particular protected characteristic.  As per the exception under the Equality Act 2010 there is an occupational requirement for this role to be fulfilled by someone aged 22 years or over.  The reason being that we are legally required to ensure that anyone appointed is at least 4 years older that our oldest resident.  Therefore, we will only be able to progress applications from candidates aged 22 years or over.  Details of the exception referred to can be found here
