Job Details

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team covering the picturesque district of the Staffordshire Moorlands.

We have 2 Social Worker positions, for those who have completed their ASYE, having 12 months post qualification experience, to join our Duty Hub based in Biddulph. 

As a Social Worker on the Duty Hub you will be working with Children and their Families from the point of referral until conclusion of Child Social Work Assessment and next steps and planning are agreed.

Main Responsibilities

Key Tasks

Engaging with children and their families at the point of referral

Completing Initial Visits and Child Social Work Assessments, to inform next steps and planning.

Undertaking Child in Need and Child Protection Visits

Undertaking Section 47 investigations

Undertaking placement of children requiring urgent accommodation through sec 17 or sec 20.

Completion of Initial Child Protection reports and attend the Initial Child Protection Conference in preparation to transfer to Assessment and Staying Together Team.

Liaising with all key agencies and making necessary referrals

Support Early Help colleagues with escalation  (step up) visits

Completion of urgent application to court following PPP or EPO been implemented 

Uploading all visits and assessments in a timely manner in line with the Local Authority's recording policy.

The Ideal Candidate

What you’ll bring

You’ll need to be a:

- Qualified Social Worker- 12 months post qualified ( completion of ASYE)

- Registered with Social Work England

- Have a current UK driving licence and vehicle

But above all, you’ll bring the desire to work with children and families to give them the right support, at the right time with the aim of keeping families together where it’s safe to do so.
