Location: Pershore/Droitwich

The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Care Worker in the Wychavon Community Adults Team.
Are you enthusiastic, dynamic, and want to join a dedicated and very supportive team delivering Adult Social Care across the Wychavon Area covering Droitwich, Pershore, Evesham and surrounding areas?
In Worcestershire we have adopted the 3 Conversation model of practice which involves a strength-based approach to working with people. You will manage your own caseload with appropriate supervision and have the ability to approve and purchase support packages to support people to make positive changes in their life.
You will need to have the confidence to advocate for our clients and work in partnership with health colleagues, other statutory partners, and voluntary sector providers. You are given opportunities and supported to be creative, innovative and search for strength-based solutions.
We are a very supportive and friendly team. We promote a positive team culture and learning environment which includes weekly reflective practice and catch-up sessions, to include both office and home-based working.
You will be offered on-going training, and professional development opportunities, monthly supervision, and a warm, supportive working environment where we value your contribution, and team members value and support each other.
Quotes from the Team:
“I have worked in Area Team Wychavon for almost two years having worked in a different Local Authority previously. I really value the day-to-day support I receive from my colleagues whatever their role or capacity; I feel like a member of a team in Wychavon which is very important to me. I’ve also been able to progress my career in my short time here and will shortly be completing my PEPS1 as part of my journey towards becoming a Practice Educator. Striving to adopt the principles of the Three Conversations model as a team enables us to strike a good balance between autonomy and support, and Wychavon is such a beautiful part of the county to work in!”
“The Wychavon Area team is a very supportive and welcoming place to be. I have worked for the team for 5 years and I still enjoy my job. Management are fantastic and our colleagues are great to work with. Everyone in the team encourages you to grow and improve – there is always someone around to help you if you need it.”
“I enjoy working for the Wychavon team because the staff are friendly and we support each other, through the ups and downs of social work, with practical help and laughter. I would recommend it!“
“WCC has enabled me as a practitioner to use my professional judgement, creativity and autonomous decision making where appropriate. I receive an appropriate balance of professional support and reflective challenge (e.g. through supervision) to keep learning and developing my practice”
What people we support say:
“C has been an excellent Social Care Worker. She’s been a true professional with the right amount of compassion and understanding, a real asset to Social Services.”
“I believe V managed this massive achievement because of her fantastic listening and communication skills, I please ask that should you have any reward initiatives within your department, service etc then please highly recommend V to be nominated”.
“I would just like to thank you for all your help with mum over the years. You have always been there for us when we needed help with mum. It's been a long journey and your advice, guidance, sympathy and understanding has been greatly appreciated by the whole family.”
