The Role
Wychavon Area Team are looking to recruit. Due to several internal promotions, we currently have vacancies for 3 Social Workers in this well-established Team. We will consider newly qualified social workers and we provide a supportive ASYE programme to support your development.
Covering Droitwich, Pershore, Evesham and surrounding areas you will be joining an established team. We encourage autonomy and professional development alongside managerial and peer support to assist you to deliver a strength-based approach to practice. This is an interesting and varied role in which you will work with adults throughout the life course who require care and support as a result of physical disability and mental/physical ill health.
The ideal candidate will have a positive approach and experience with complex cases and situations. The role requires a high level of skill in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Extensive knowledge of the Care Act, and the Mental Capacity Act is essential.
In Worcestershire we have adopted the 3 Conversation Model of practice which involves a strength-based approach to working with people. You will manage your own caseload with appropriate supervision and, within agreed budget limits, can self-approve support plans.
This approach promotes autonomous and creative working styles amongst professionals. The 3 Conversation Model promotes an innovative and creative approach to practice, where you will support people to make positive changes in their life, exploring universal services as well as purchasing support packages and placements to promote independence.
You will need to have the confidence to advocate for our clients and work in partnership with health colleagues, other statutory partners, and voluntary sector providers. WCC offer a flexible approach adopting a hybrid working model which enables team members to work from home as well as our offices.
You will be joining a very supportive and friendly team that fosters a positive team culture and learning environment. You will be offered on-going training, and professional development opportunities, monthly supervision, and a warm, supportive working environment where we value your contribution, and team members value and support each other.
Quotes from staff:
“The Wychavon Area team is a very supportive and welcoming place to be. I have worked for the team for 5 years and I still enjoy my job. Management are fantastic and our colleagues are great to work with. Everyone in the team encourages you to grow and improve – there is always someone around to help you if you need it.”
“WCC has enabled me as a practitioner to use my professional judgement, creativity and autonomous decision making where appropriate. I receive an appropriate balance of professional support and reflective challenge (e.g. through supervision) to keep learning and developing my practice”
