A very rare opportunity has arisen at Picknalls First School due to the retirement of two longstanding teaching assistants.

We wish to appoint two teaching assistants who are eager to become part of a very dynamic, inclusive and forward thinking team.

These posts are permanent, term time only positions starting on Monday 8^th January 2024.  These posts will be subject to a six-month probationary period.

We employ one teaching assistant per year group (across two classes) and we are therefore flexible on the year groups the post can be for.

One post is 32.5 hours per week (5 days) and the other is 26 hours per week (4 days per week).

We need someone who:

• Has excellent knowledge of a school and how children learn best Is enthusiastic about learning and is motivated and creative in supporting the development of the environment Is passionate about working with young children and giving our learners the best possible start on their learning journey. An ability to cover PPA session for one afternoon per week is desirable.

The post holder must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They must be able to work on their own, using good initiative; as well as part of a team. They must relate well to pupils, fostering positive attitudes to learning.
