This advert is open to Internal and External applicants.

 

An opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to work in the Safeguarding & DoL's Team.

 

The team is expanding to provide specialist safeguarding expertise and oversight to protect and support people at risk of abuse or neglect within the City.

 

The role will include working closely with our contracts and quality team in Commissioning to support with safeguarding and quality concerns and subsequent oversight and involvement in S.42 enquiries.

 

You must have previous experience of undertaking S.42 enquiries be able to demonstrate a good working understanding of the Stoke & Staffordshire Safeguarding Procedures and be able to apply these to practice effectively, along with a good working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and application.

 

The post holders must be proactive and be able to effectively build relationships with individuals and partners and work in a multi-agency way to achieve best outcomes.

 

You must be able to professional challenge and advocate for both the individual and the organisation.

 

Making Safeguarding Personal is a key priority therefore keeping the person at the centre at all times and gathering views and thoughts is essential.

 

Excellent communication and excellent report writing are essential.
