Job Details

The governors of Brockmoor Primary School are looking to appoint a Level 3 Teaching Assistant. We are a two-form entry school, catering for pupils from 3-11 years old and are situated within the borough of Dudley, in the heart of the Black Country.

The school has served the local community since 1887 and many families have attended the school for several generations. Brockmoor is an area that faces many challenges for its young people but equally demonstrates a strong community spirit. The pupils, parents and staff are justly proud of our diverse heritage.

We put our children at the heart of everything we do and are dedicated to providing them with a school environment in which they are safe, happy and learning.

Hours: 32.5

The role will require someone who has specific skills and experience.    You must be qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 and hold NVQ Level 2 or above in both maths and English.

Experience of working within different key stages would be an advantage.

You must have experience supporting children with significant additional learning needs, both on a one-to-one basis and working with groups of children.  

Level 3 staff work with a level of autonomy under the supervision of a classroom teacher to:

- undertake work/care/support programmes

- enable access to learning and to assist a teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom

- support teaching staff in the development and education of pupils including the provision of specialist skills as appropriate

All staff in school will be expected to accept reasonable flexibility in working arrangements and the allocation of duties in pursuance of raising pupil achievement.
