Are you an experienced Family Support Worker looking for a new and exciting challenge? If so, this could be the opportunity for you. In partnership with The Nuneaton Academy, we are looking to appoint a Family Support Worker to be based in school delivering direct interventions to children, young people and their families whilst being an active member of the WCC Nuneaton and Bedworth Early Help Team.

Early Help and Targeted Support services in Warwickshire have seen some exciting changes, helping to ensure children, young people and families access the right support at the right time. This was recognised by Ofsted in our 2021 inspection where we were grade Good in all areas:
- Children and families in Warwickshire benefit from consistently good quality services.
- Children and families in Warwickshire benefit from a clearly defined and accessible Early Help offer, ensuring that they receive support services when needed.
- Children and Families have access to a wide range of helpful services at an early stage, which make a real difference to their lives.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Family Support Worker full time, 37 hours (part time hours may be considered), term time only on a fixed term contract for 12 months. The post holder will work daily in school and systemically across the locality with multi-agency partners to support children, young people and families at the earliest opportunity to prevent their needs escalating. Extensive CPD and supervision is provided by Warwickshire County Council Children and Families Service.
Our exciting, innovative and caring service supports children, young people and their families who need information, advice and direct support. Family Support Worker’s apply multi-disciplinary skills in their work and use restorative practice in all they do.
About the role:
We are looking for people with the following skills and experience:
- Resilient with emotional intelligence, and an understanding of family dynamics and child development.
- Experience of positive parenting skills and direct work with young people.
- Experience of engaging and working with families facing challenges.
- A solution-focused and strength-based ethos.
- Work towards the achievement of the KPI established as part of the Service Level Agreement between Warwickshire County Council and The Nuneaton Academy including the implementation of Working Together to Improve School Attendance.
- To be an allocated worker to children, young people open to Early Help and deliver direct interventions as required.
- Act of Early Help Lead Professional.
