Are you a support worker with a background in care who is looking for a new challenge in your career? Are you seeking an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people and work with an amazingly supportive team?
The Alders children’s home provides mid term care for up to 4 young people aged between 12 and 17 years, who may be admitted in an emergency. The purpose of the home is to provide a safe and secure environment that promotes the welfare of looked after children, whilst contributing to the assessment of the young person’s needs.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe overall aims are to support young people using a person-centred approach to develop independence and flourish to lead a fulfilling life. This role requires you to work on your own initiative with the ability to deal with challenging situations. You will need to be a resilient person, who can respond appropriately to constant behavioural challenges.
The Ideal CandidateThe ability to provide support to young people resident within the home, fulfilling keyworker responsibilities and working in partnership with the young people, their families and all professional relevant agencies is essential. You will be experienced and be able to ensure our young people's physical, emotional, social, health and educational needs are met. To be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in all forms is also a necessity. Ideally you will have an NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children & Young Person’s qualification or equivalent, along with a Full Driving Licence.
