Welfare Rights Officer
Macmillan Cancer Support and the City of Wolverhampton Council in partnership provide a Macmillan Welfare Rights Service in Wolverhampton and Shropshire. The service provides advice, support, information, advocacy and representation to people living with cancer, their family members and carers. The service also provides appropriate benefits training to other professionals and volunteers as required.
We are recruiting on a fixed-term contract until the end of June 2018, to the post of:
Welfare Rights Officer (Shropshire - based at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital)
• 37 hours per week
• Grade 6 £27,668 per annum
You must have recent experience of high quality advice in social security law and practice, and experience of regular and effective representation at tribunals. You must be able to train others and have excellent communication and negotiation skills. You must have the ability to design and produce effective information packages for both claimants and professionals.

The postholder will be an employee of the Welfare Rights Service, Adult Social Care, City of Wolverhampton Council on a fixed-term contract. The project will be funded by Macmillan Cancer Support.
