We offer the Golden Hello Scheme, a payment of £1,000 (pro-rata if part time) which will be applied to newly recruited Social Workers in Sandwell ASC.

This is an exciting time to join Sandwell Metropolitan Brought Council Adult Social Care. We are currently restructuring our community social work teams to create town teams and a separate Learning Disability and Autism Team for Sandwell adults and carers.
We are looking to recruit a Social Worker into the Wednesbury, West Bromwich and Tipton Community Social Work teams.

We are looking for committed and hardworking qualified Social Worker with Adult Social Work experience working with people with older people, people physical disabilities and sensory impairments, as well as mental health issues. You will need to be motivated and flexible with high professional standards and sound knowledge and experience of current legislation including the Care Act 2014, Safeguarding, Continuing Health Care, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Community DOLS/LPS.

You will be expected to work with vulnerable adults and their carers with an asset-based approach to support them to achieve their outcomes within the wider community. You will need to be confident in undertaking safeguarding investigations, mental capacity assessments, best interest decisions, carrying out outcome focused assessments, with support planning, to meet their care and support needs.

You must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals and with our partner agencies to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and their carers.

You will be given an induction, appropriate training opportunities and regular supervision with an experienced manager. You will be working in a friendly environment, skilled, diverse and supportive team.

You must have a degree in Social Work, Dip SW, CQSW or equivalent and be registered with Social Work England.

You will also be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check.

Hours

37 hours per week

The council operates hybrid working. This involves working from an agreed workplace location in the borough for at least two days a week.
