Sandwell Valley School is a charity and a small independent school offering alternative provision to pupils aged 11 to 18.
We provide places for young people who prefer and thrive in smaller and nurturing setting and young people who have a statement of educational needs.

We aim to develop young people into unique and responsible citizens of society with a sense of their own values by personalising the education we provide each pupil, to re-engage their interest and address the gaps in their education.
We are currently recruiting a dedicated and resilient maths teacher to join our small team of staff.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of teaching children aged 11-16 with SEMH, ASD and/or ADHD, or the skills and flexibility to adapt to this environment. They will be able to deliver outstanding lessons within a small class environment by carefully adapting and personalising learning to student's individual needs.

Sandwell Valley School provides education and training programme's for vulnerable pupils and adults from its premises in the centre of West Bromwich. These are mainly full-time study programme's and apprenticeship placements for learners aged 16 years and above, which are undertaken in conjunction with other agencies.
Sandwell Valley School aims ‘to facilitate a culture whereby pupils’ knowledge and understanding are developed in order to promote their self-belief and respect in their own abilities’.
We work with learners aged 14 to 16 offering alternative education provision, 16 to 18 year old's on Study programme's, 18 plus on pre-employment courses, Traineeship's and Apprenticeships.
Our mission is to engage individuals who are currently not in employment, education or training (NEETS) and re-engage them in learning. Alongside accredited qualifications, our aim is to provide a supportive training environment which seeks to build an individual’s self-esteem, self-confidence and skills base so that they can progress to Further Education, Apprenticeships or employment.

We are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Tutor (QTS not essential) to deliver specified subjects and provide support across all programmes. The post holder needs to demonstrate enthusiasm, imaginative and innovative approaches towards teaching and learning.
A flexible attitude and an appetite for involvement in developmental work is essential. With proven organisational and administrative skills and a capacity for hard work, you will demonstrate a genuine commitment to helping individuals learn and develop. The post will be based initially at Head Office in Sandwell Valley School in West Bromwich although some delivery and assessment may take place at other sites and venues.
