We are looking to appoint an experienced autism specialist Class Teacher to join Halesbury School teaching our KS1 /2 Autism Pathway Class, covering age ranges from years 2-3.

Halesbury was Accredited by the National Autistic Society in 2020 and we are looking to appoint an experienced teacher to join this specialist team.

Halesbury is a small, welcoming school with a happy and positive ethos where high expectations for our young people (aged 4-19) co-exist with realistic goals. We are committed to providing a wonderful learning environment for everyone, where every child and every adult matters. Our children are inspirational. Our provision meets the needs of pupils with complex communication difficulties, autism, low levels of cognition and learning difficulties including a range of additional needs. 75% of our cohort have autism.

Halesbury enjoys strong links with the local community, prepares our students for adulthood, has supportive parents and a committed and effective governing body.

In order to apply for this vacancy, you must hold a formal teaching qualification and be able to evidence experience of working with students with autism and additional needs over a range of Key stages. Additional SEN qualifications are desirable.

Only candidates meeting the above criteria will be considered for this post.

Hours: 32.5 per week, all year round
