2022 saw the creation of a new and exciting Connected Working team, which has grown and developed over the last 18 months, and we are now seeking a new member of the team.
What is Connected Working?
Connected Working helps people managers to develop a high performing team where staff are safe to raise concerns or ideas and are empowered to input into the development of the team. Training in the fundamentals of developing a high performing team is supplemented with wrap around coaching, which supports managers to implement new ideas and ways of working. This is not theoretical training, but the provision of tools to help our people managers manage their teams.
There are two main activities for the Connected Working team:
Delivery of interactive training either online or face to face, using Microsoft applications and interactive presentation software, such as mentimeter and padlet.
Wrap around coaching ensures that people managers go through the learning cycle and the training becomes the normal way of working. The team works closely with the managers, supporting them in cascading the training to their teams. The coaches also facilitate problem-solving and development of good practice through service area improvement plans.
What Will You Be Doing?
Delivering group training online or face to face and carrying out one-to-one coaching sessions with people managers. Development of resources to support people managers and their teams.
About You
We’re looking for someone that understands good management practice, is an excellent communicator, has good influencing skills and is able to get the best out of people at all levels of the organisation.
We want somebody that is capable of enthusing an audience and delivering training, with experience of interactive presentation software or who can learn quickly. You must be able to keep everyone engaged in the process, deal with any concerns and challenge negative language or behaviour. You need emotional intelligence to be able to provide honest feedback and the ability and integrity to recognise the differences between coaching staff and directing their actions.
Good Microsoft Office skills are essential as you will be frequently using the full range of applications.
If you would like to know more about this role, please contact: jacky.matthews@walsall.gov.uk
