HEAD OF SCIENCE (Teachers’ Pay Scale plus TLR 1.2 £11,406pa)
We seek a well-qualified, dynamic and enthusiastic Head of Science for Easter 2024. You will have a passion for Science that will enthuse, engage and motivate our students, as well as a vision for the future of the subject. You will want to lead a talented and motivated team that has experienced a good deal of success.
In Key Stage 3, students are taught in mixed ability groups in Years 7 and 8 but then set in preparation for options in Year 9. Our curriculum is designed to deliver topics in a thematic approach which allow students to draw upon knowledge beyond the National Curriculum to answer big questions in science.
In Key Stage 4, students are entered for either GCSE Triple Science or Combined Science.
In Key Stage 5, we offer A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics, following the OCR specifications. KS5 teaching experience is desirable and we offer professional development if required
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions in your application form.
Application form and further details are available on the website www.paget.staffs.sch.uk or can be requested by telephone or email.
Please note that applications must be received by the school no later than 2pm on Thursday 30th November. Interviews will be held on Wednesday 6th December.
