Job Details
We are looking for a flexible individual with experience of supporting people with disabilities into employment for this varied and interesting role.
You will be based within the council’s Specialist Employment Team and will support activity to improve employment outcomes for young people with SEND and adults with disabilities. You will do this by working local stakeholders, including jobseekers, parents and carers, professionals and local employers to raise awareness of supported internships, inclusive apprenticeships and supported employment. You will work with local schools and colleges to collect and report on outcome data and work with the team manager to develop a local SEND Employment Forum.
Other duties will including working as a job coach both within supported internship host businesses and local business supporting customers accessing the council’s supported employment provision.
Applicants must meet the essential criteria detailed in the Person Specification including holding a Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in Maths and English.

Hours
37 hours per week
The council operates hybrid working. This involves working from an agreed workplace location in the borough for at least two days a week.
