Teacher or Head of Music required for an April or September 2024 start
Permanent, full-time position
Salary: MPS1 – UPS3 £30,000 – £46,525 per annum plus TLR 2.5 £5,349 per annum
John Taylor Multi Academy Trust (JTMAT) believes in the power of education to improve lives – and the world. As a partner academy in JTMAT, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Head of Music to join our evolving organisation from Easter/September 2024, or earlier if possible.
The successful candidate will be experienced to GCSE and A level. At KS3 we have developed a broad and balanced curriculum which not only prepares students for the demands of GCSE but develops an interest and appreciation of music, both as a listener and active participator. In year 9, students can choose a music pathway which allows for the study of Music Technology or Performance. This can be followed by the study of OCR GCSE Music.
We have a range of thriving enrichments available for students within the Music Department and offer a range of peripatetic lessons. There are many opportunities for an enthusiastic teacher to shape the future of our Music offer as we look to develop, refine and build our curriculum. John Taylor Free School opened in 2018 and we are now approaching capacity with Year 7-12 and Year 13 starting in September 2024. Our first Ofsted rating is ‘Good’ alongside a strong set of first GCSE results with above national figures in all benchmark areas.
