Job Details
Staffordshire is an innovative, ambitious and sustainable county with a proud heritage and bright hopes for the future – well positioned at the heart of the thriving West Midlands to create jobs, growth and prosperity for local people.
Much has been achieved in recent years – a better quality of life for local people, major programmes delivered to secure future growth and jobs, and substantial changes to how we operate, ensuring we can continue to deliver what local people need at a cost we can afford.
We are immensely proud of our county and of the work we do, and the way in which they are presented to our residents, colleagues and the wider world is vitally important to our continued success.
Our businesses and residents look to us to promote the county on a national and international stage and to act as a trusted voice in times of crisis and challenge.
As our new Assistant Director for Communications, you will offer creativity and advice around our branding and messaging, dealing with the here and now whilst also looking ahead to the future.
As well as managing our external communications, you will also take the lead on managing key messages for our workforce as we move into the next phase of our evolution as an organisation.
Whilst local government experience would be beneficial, we welcome applications from experienced communications professionals from any sector. Most important to us will be your ability to offer creativity and constructive challenge, and your commitment to building on the outstanding work our communications team currently do as you help lead up into the future.
