SEND Student Support Mentor (Teaching Assistant)
Caludon Castle School
Grade 3 £23,114 – £24,294 pa – Pro rata to hours worked (Up to 32 hours per week).
Permanent - 39 weeks per year

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated professional to inspire and enthuse our students to meet their aspirational targets. This is a unique opportunity to combine providing specialist support in a traditional teaching assistant (TA) capacity, as well as mentoring a small group of students (‘cohort’), whilst also observing a wide range of lessons across all subjects and years, enabling you to glean good practice from colleagues and teachers.
This is a unique opportunity to provide specialist support utilising your skills, whilst also observing a wide range of lessons across all subjects and years. The post could suit an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to enter teaching, as the position would offer school-based experience prior to applying for a PGCE or an apprenticeship.
You will have a strong commitment to inclusive education, have had some experience of, or training in, learning strategies, and have the ability to supervise and support the teaching activities of individuals or groups of young people. The role will include meeting a range of needs of individuals and groups of students (11-18) both in the classroom and other learning environments.
