The Arthur Terry Learning Partnership is a highly successful Multi Academy Trust (MAT) encompassing six secondary schools, 14 primary schools, an all through school, a Teaching School Hub, and School Centred Initial Teacher Training provider. Our schools are based in North Birmingham, Tamworth, Lichfield, North Warwickshire, and Coventry.

Due to growth, we are seeking to appoint a Head of HR. You will lead the Employee Relations function within our Trust of schools and services. Children are at the heart of everything we do, this is not just a statement, this is what drives and shapes the work we do. You will share the same passion and commitment to delivering excellent HR services as we do.

Key responsibilities

  • the most important quality you will be process is to be a leader, with the ability to establish trust and credibility with Trust Leaders and staff. You will be able to lead with integrity, confidence, and innovation, without the need for validation reporting to the HR Director, leading people priorities, and developing action plans for delivery championing organisational change by creating, managing, implementing, and delivering HR initiatives including workforce planning, employee relations, talent management, pay and reward, and employee engagement the HR team compromises of two hubs, with a Senior HR Advisor and three HR Advisors delivering a HR service within each hub. You will collaborate with the teams to enhance the performance and direct workforce planning strategies enabling inclusion in terms of accessibility and ensuring equity and diversity and inclusivity underpins all considerations and approaches focussing on our core areas of People, Systems, Date through Compliance, Delivery and Enablement

What you will need to succeed

  • to share our passion for wanting the absolute best for our staff and students ability to work flexibly in an innovative way finding solutions that work for employees and the Trust ensuing children are at the heart of all decisions
  • the ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy is crucial FCIPD qualified with evidence of continuous professional development or degree in human resources management, employment law or industrial relations management or minimum CIPD level 5 qualified with extensive experience in leading an employee relations function be emotionally intelligent with the ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders the ability to work in a face paced, challenging yet rewarding role experience of managing HR teams with evidence of improved outcomes
