Job Details
We are looking to recruit a Senior Social Worker to cover 12 months of maternity leave in a busy Assessment and Short -Term Intervention team in the South of Birmingham.
The candidate should have experience in assessing families under s17 and s47 Children Act 1989, presenting at Initial Child Protection Conference and devising and holding short term Child in Need Plans.
The team are on duty every five weeks pick up new families each duty cycle. The office base is Lifford House and teams are on a rolling rota coming into the office a minimum of two days per week. On duty week, workers like to come in for 5 days and be present together in the office.
The ideal candidate should enjoy working as part of a busy front like team where no two days are the same. You will be part of a settled and stable team overseen by an efficient and supportive team manager who provides formal supervision on a monthly basis. Group supervisions and practice forums are also part of the service offer to staff.
The wider service is settled and stable with five permanent heads of service most teams are fully staffed with permanent workers.
