With a new management team in place, the Head of HR & OD has refocused HR to better reflect our business and we are looking for a talented individual who can play a part in our new HR team.

You’ll be joining a supportive and busy HR department as we implement our programme of workforce reform and fulfil ‘Kickstart’, a major transformational project that will see the Council move to a new home and a new way of working. By the end of 2017 thousands of staff will have moved out of many of our current offices into the brand new building at Friargate.

The role

Managing a team of HR advisers you will deliver a professional HR service to a defined business area, covering all aspects of employee relations work, including, organisational change, reward and recognition, pay and benefits and taking the lead in complex cases. You will contribute to the evolving employment relations culture in the Council, advising on strategic approaches to managing people issues and leading on corporate projects.

About you

CIPD-qualified and with a good grounding in HR, you will have a thorough knowledge of employment legislation and best practice, experience of supporting change management programmes and solid employee relations experience gained within a multi-unionised environment. You will have the professional resilience and confidence to deal with complex and challenging issues and juggle competing priorities.

We would love to hear from you if you relish a challenge, have fresh and innovative ideas, can build great workplace relationships and are passionate about providing a first class HR service. Sector experience is not important but if you have experience of working in a complex, multi-site and political organisation and really want to make a difference, please get in touch.
