5 Week Fixed Term Contract
Due to last year’s success in supporting the Government’s “Disability Confident Campaign” Warwickshire County Council is offering again a 5 week fixed term summer placement to provide both work experience and mentoring for disabled students and graduates who are aged 18 and over.
Applications for this placement are sought from disabled students and graduates who have the necessary skills and experience for the post.

We are looking to recruit four positions across Warwickshire County Council: Fire and Rescue Service, The People Group, The Communities Group and The Resources Group:
Fire and Rescue Service
A unique and exciting Work Experience opportunity has been established within Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service. The successful candidate will work within the Training and Development Team providing administrative support in order that practical and theoretical training delivery is maintained on a daily basis.
The People Group
An exciting opportunity to support learning from complaints in Adult Social Care. The project will entail reviewing, analysing and reporting on key themes in complaints made by customers. The project will be used to support the work on organisational learning and development.
The Resources Group
The Insight service provide a wide range of data analysis and research support to Warwickshire. We cover everything from geological mapping to Social Care reporting. Being a member of Insight offers many opportunities in data collection and acquisition, analysis and research, software and systems to support the above and even website design
The Communities Group
The Community Safety and Locality Working Service, within the Communities Group, supports the delivery of initiatives to develop Community Capacity, tackle Crime and AntiSocial Behaviour, and promote Financial Inclusion within Warwickshire. An opportunity has arisen to provide support across the service, supporting delivery of key projects.

Three placements will be based at our Warwickshire council offices in Warwick and one placement at our Fire and Rescue Service in Bedworth for a 5 week placement starting in July/August 2017.
You'll be responsible for carrying out general administrative tasks including preparing responses to correspondence; answering the telephone to internal and external customers and providing solutions to their queries; data input all of which are of a confidential nature. In addition you’ll be helping the teams as necessary.
You’ll work 37 hours per week, usually 9 am – 5 pm but depending on the workload you will need to be flexible with these times as there may be occasions when you will need to be in for 8.30 am or stay until 5.30 pm.
To be successful in this role you’ll need a minimum of 4 GCSE’s including English and Maths. As you’ll be managing a variety of relationships with internal and external customers, it’s important you have good communication skills and can work within a team and on your own initiative. Computer literate with experience of different IT systems including Word; Email and databases you’ll be used to using different information to help solve straightforward problems. With good planning and organising skills; resilient and the ability to work with confidential information you’ll also be accurate in your work
Another important requirement is that you can travel to Warwick and or Bedworth, where this job will be based, so please consider how you will get to work each day before applying.
