Admin Support Assistant (Building Control)

We are currently recruiting for an Admin Support Officer (Building Control)
The Northern Warwickshire Building Control Partnership is a shared service and offers the Building Control Service to residents of Nuneaton and Bedworth BC and North Warwickshire BC areas.
The role is an exciting new Admin Support Assistant post in the busy and forward thinking Building Control Service.
You will be working Monday - Friday 30 hours per week. Assisting in the fulfilment of the Council’s statutory duty relating to the application and enforcement of the Building Regulations 2010.
The service undertakes important daily service tasks, which include:
- Site inspection
- Plan assessment
- Control of Demolitions
- Dangerous Structures investigations and resolution
This can only be delivered with quality team and customer focused support.
Key tasks include:
As part of a team of three, cross working support staff, each with key defined roles, you will:
- Receive and book site inspection notifications on a daily basis.
- Effectively manage appointments for professional officers.
- Provide outstanding customer support.
- Ensure the Main Activities detailed in the job description are fulfilled .
The Building Control service is intended to contribute to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council enterprise arm, (NABCEL). The post holder will be expected to engage fully to support this exciting opportunity.
Ideally you will be:
An enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who can demonstrate a capacity and enthusiasm for hard work. A team player you should be capable as an individual and willing to support colleagues to achieve targets.
You will be required to liaise with members of the public or their agents. So you will need to be comfortable and confident when dealing with customers. Good organisational and administrative skills and an ability to use computers for recording and retrieving information are essential.
Building Control work in a flexible adaptable manner to suit customer need, this is in line with the Council’s exciting shift to ‘Agile’ working. A mix of home, mobile and hot desk working. Where staff are I.T. enabled to work anywhere and, subject to service requirements work flexibly, while enjoying a positive work/ life balance.
