Exciting Development Opportunity: Local Authority Lawyer
Coventry City Council Legal Services is looking to recruit a Lawyer to a permanent position within its Regulatory Team to grow into a role in which they will be able to provide advice on information governance matters to client departments and advise Senior Officers and Councillors on local authority law.
We want someone who is prepared to learn and develop into the role but does not necessarily at present have the knowledge and experience set out in the Person Specification to “hit the ground running”. We can offer training and mentoring as there is another lawyer in the team who holds the same role and we have experience of undertaking this type of development plan.
The Legal Services team is LEXCEL accredited and has recently been named Birmingham Law Society’s In-house Legal Team of 2017.
You will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (Fellow), but you may be recently qualified, a returner following a break in employment or looking to broaden your knowledge of local authority law.
You will be able to work effectively as part of a team and establish good relations with your client departments and outside agencies including the police.
Good organisational, drafting, communication and IT skills will be required, as well as the ability to work to tight deadlines.
