Visitor Services Assistant (Reception & Retail) at Worcestershire County Museum, Hartlebury Castle.
This role requires an enthusiastic, engaging, well-organised and flexible individual. Our Reception posts are the first point of contact many of our visitors have with the museum and as such require exemplary customer service skills. The job comprises of three main tasks; meeting and greeting our visitors (including answering the phone), selling admission tickets and shop stock, and admin tasks including organizing group visits and maintaining diaries. The successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a team, previous work experience in a customer-focused environment, the ability to multi-task and the physical ability to undertake basic cleaning tasks & moving of furniture/stock etc. The role will involve working every third weekend, plus occasional evenings and bank holidays.
Working pattern: There are two posts. Post A will work every Thursday (9.30am-5.30pm, half hour unpaid lunch break), plus every third weekend (both Saturday and Sunday, 10.30-5.30, half hour unpaid lunch break). Post B will work every Friday (9.30am-5.30pm, half hour unpaid lunch break), plus every third weekend (both Saturday and Sunday, 10.30-5.30, half hour unpaid lunch break). These posts are therefore advertised at 11.8 hours a week which is the weekly average over the three week rota. The posts are temporary until 23 December, although there may be the possibility of extension. Please indicate on your form whether you are interested in Post A, Post B or either post.
