Selly Park Technology College for Girls is a high performing 11-16 specialist community school in the south of Birmingham with 700 girls on roll and a proven record of GCSE success and high CVA scores.
The school has been in the top 3% for Value Added Performance throughout the last decade and indeed has been in the top 1% for many of these years. In 2016 results in English Language were 82% A*- C, English Literature 88% A*- C. Progress 8 measure for the English element was Ranked Significantly + and the top 10% with a Ranking of 5 for All pupils and 7 for Pupil Premium Pupils. In 2016, Selly Park was again congratulated by the Department for Education for being in the top one hundred non selective schools in the country for Value Added scores. The school was awarded Pupil Premium Winner Key Stage 4 for the West Midlands Region at 2016 Pupil Premium Awards.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Teacher of English to join our dedicated department and teach our key stage 3 and 4 pupils. As an enthusiastic and innovative English teacher you will work alongside a strong and motivated team, who are committed to ensuring that our pupils make outstanding progress.
We are looking for someone committed and innovative, with a desire and drive to enable all pupils to achieve their potential. You should be able to encourage all pupils to meet or exceed their levels of progress and be able to use data effectively to raise attainment. You should be someone with enthusiasm for learning and be able to share good practice within the department.
This post is suitable for both experienced and newly qualified Teachers. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual who is keen to take advantage of our teacher development programmes and further enhance pupil progress.
