Clerk to Governors Vacancy

£15,246 - £17,072 FTE Band B pro rata

Casual contract, Term time only

The Head teacher and Governors seek to appoint an enthusiastic person to be Clerk to the Governors at this friendly and successful school.

Duties will include:

• The preparation and distribution of papers in advance of meetings [in conjunction with the Headteacher and Chair of Governors]

• Providing printed copies for those who need it

• Taking, processing and distribution of minutes

• Managing communication between governors

• Recording and filing signed minutes

• Handling correspondence

• Working with confidential and sensitive information.

The appointed person will need to have a flexible approach and have availability to attend all Governors meetings, of which there are approximately 12 per year, which take place in the evenings at St Andrew’s between the hours of 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The appointed person should also be willing to undertake training if necessary.

If you have experience as a Clerk, good secretarial skills, are reliable and an effective time manager we’d love to hear from you.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are needed together with experience in the use of email, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Internet access and personal access to a computer is preferred, however access to a computer and printer is available in school.
