Lichfield District Council is seeking a Community Safety Officer (Anti-Social Behaviour) for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave.

The Community Safety Officer will be a main point of contact within the District Council for issues relating to anti-social behaviour. He/she will support the Lichfield District Safer Community Partnership and be responsible for delivering on all aspects of anti-social behaviour and partnership work. You will work closely with agencies where appropriate paying particular regard to the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and other relevant legislation including the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014: Reform of anti-social behaviour powers.

The role will involve pro-actively engaging with other agencies and members of the community to identify and tackle anti-social behaviour within the Lichfield District. This will include co-ordination of specific cases ranging from low level interventions to Criminal Behaviour Orders, mediation and conflict management.

  • Experience of dealing with members of the public including young people.
  • Proven experience of working in community safety including mediation and conflict management.
  • Experience of chairing meetings and taking minutes.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.

  • Self motivation and capacity to work with minimal supervision

Occasional work outside normal office hours and away from the office base will be involved.
