Position: Customer Services Officer (2 positions available)
? Location: Various sites within Newport Town Centre
⏰ Hours: 25 hours per week (over 5 days)

Newport Town Council is seeking a highly motivated and community-oriented individual to join our team as a Community Officer. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the Newport community by actively contributing to the town council's initiatives and collaborating with the Hub Charity. If you are passionate about community development, grant writing, and volunteer coordination, we invite you to apply.

Responsibilities:

Grant Acquisition:

   - Research, identify, and apply for grants to support Newport Town Council and the Hub Charity's community-focused projects.

   - Work collaboratively with relevant teams to gather information and prepare compelling grant proposals.

   - Keep abreast of funding opportunities and trends in community development.

Volunteer Coordination:

   - Develop and implement a volunteer program that aligns with the needs of Newport Town Council, the library, and the Hub Charity.

   - Coordinate volunteer activities, ensuring that tasks are distributed efficiently and in line with organisational goals.

   - Provide orientation, training, and support to volunteers, fostering a positive and rewarding experience.

Community Engagement:

   - Act as a liaison between Newport Town Council, the library, and the Hub Charity to enhance community engagement and collaboration.

   - Organize and promote community events, workshops, and programs to foster a sense of belonging and participation.

   - Work with local residents, community groups, and businesses to identify and address community needs.

Networking and Partnerships:

   - Establish and maintain positive relationships with external organisations, agencies, and potential funding partners.

   - Seek opportunities for collaboration and partnership to enhance the impact of community programs.

   - Represent Newport Town Council at community meetings and events.
