Old Park is a very successful Special School for pupils between the ages of 4-19 years.
We provide education for pupils who have severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties. These include pupils with complex medical conditions, physical and mobility difficulties and autism. Several of our children have behavioural difficulties arising from their condition and many have communication difficulties. All pupils that attend Old Park School have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).
In November 2011Old Park School relocated to a new purpose-built building with large classroom spaces and adaptable furniture, H bar tracking throughout, care rooms for each phase and specialist rooms for Food Technology, Music and ICT. The school has a library, therapy room, swimming pool, sensory, soft play, physiotherapy and nurses’ room. The large school hall is multi-purpose and can be sub- divided for Sherbourne, Rebound therapy, sporting activities, whole school performances and dining.
At Old Park our vision, mission and values are driven by four key areas: the unique learner, positive relationships, engaging environments, learning and development. These are at the centre of our school ethos and the principles of each are shared by all members of our school community. They are underpinned by our culture of safeguarding. Each area is used to develop the provision we provide now, tomorrow and in the future.
Our most recent Ofsted (November 2018) judged us to be an outstanding school for the third time.
