The Learning Development Department wishes to appoint to the post of Learning Mentor. The position is a key role within the school and will require the suitable candidate to work with students and colleagues in a variety of curriculum areas and across the age and ability range.
The role will involve working within whole classes, with small groups and individuals to develop effective learning, enabling all students to achieve their potential. The successful candidate will also deliver a range of teaching and learning interventions and mentoring sessions to targeted students.
Duties will also include supervision of the Inclusion Room, where you will be responsible for supporting the teaching and learning of students who have been removed from lessons on a short-term basis focusing on supporting and interacting with students to complete curriculum tasks, enabling a smooth reintegration to the mainstream classroom.
This is a ideally graduate position, however non graduates with relevant experience may also be considered. Experience of working with challenging behaviour would also be an advantage. This post may suit someone who is interested in teaching as a career and wishes to gain some experience within a large busy school.
