We will also require at least two satisfactory written references, one of which must be from a current employer or from the setting where a candidate has previously worked with children. We are seeking to appoint one Teaching Assistant:
An experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant with experience of working in a nursery or pre-school setting. The successful candidate will be required to work 4 days a week – Monday to Thursday – from 8.15am to 3.45am on a fixed term contract for 1 year.
Some flexibility will be required from time to time regarding sessions worked to take account of a variable workload, for example to complete periodic assessments. This will be by agreement with the Pre-School Manager.
The successful candidates will be caring, committed practitioners who have some experience of working with very young children in a Pre-school or Nursery setting and be able to demonstrate an understanding of children’s social, emotional, and developmental needs. Experience of supporting children with Special Educational Needs is essential. You must be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children.
In compliance with our policy on obtaining employment references, applicants must use their current or most recent employer as a referee and provide another reference from a previous employer or college. Character references and testimonials are not acceptable. References must cover the complete 3-year period prior to application and additional referees must be provided if necessary to achieve this. Failure to provide suitable references may result in an application/offer of employment being withdrawn. References will be sought prior to interview for shortlisted applicants. Candidates should ensure that they complete the application fully and include a personal statement that is tailored to this role. CVs will not be accepted. Full education and employment history should be given, with an explanation provided for any gaps.
