The Role

A permanent opportunity has arisen in the Performance and Information department, which is currently based at Service Headquarters in Hindlip, for a Performance Analyst.

 

The post holder will be responsible for managing, analysing and providing performance information for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and external agencies, enabling the organisation to continually improve and manage risk data.

 

* Please note, regarding the hours for this second position, there is capacity to offer up to 31 hours per week. However, if you wish to work below 31 hours this will also be considered and can be discussed at the interview stage. 

 

The Person

 

Although the ideal applicant will be in possession of a degree Level 6 qualification in relevant discipline (e.g. information management, statistics, programming, geography), this is not essential requirement for the post. We welcome applications from professionals having equivalent knowledge and skills gained through work experience in similar roles.

 

Experience and knowledge:

  • Significant administrative experience in managing a database on a daily basis.
  • Understanding the relationships between large and complex datasets to identify the drivers behind performance changes.
  • Using a wide range of programmes and reporting tools for analytical purposes, e.g. mapping software, statistical software, data visualisation software.
  • Excellent numerical skills and proven ability to assimilate, analyse, interpret and present data.
  • Ability to identify problems and suggest and implement solutions.
  • Good communication skills to explain complex analytical outputs and to deliver trainings, when required.
  • Proven ability to progress and prioritise multiple work assignments with a minimal supervision.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is responsible for providing day-to-day fire and rescue services across the two counties of Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Our stations are staffed by a mix of 'wholetime' firefighters - operating on a full-time basis and providing an immediate response - and ‘on-call’ firefighters who work and live in their local communities and respond to emergency calls whenever they are needed.
