An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Revenue and Benefit Services. We are looking to appoint a full time Senior Clerk who will provide a professional and proactive customer focussed service to maximise revenue for the organisation.

Location : Old Court Buildings, Priory Street, Dudley

This team is responsible for collecting over £200m raised across its Council Tax and Non Domestic Rates portfolios. Applicants should possess good negotiating skills and experience of communicating with the public as you will be dealing with telephone calls, written enquiries and attendance at the Magistrates Court. You will also be in regular contact with Enforcement Agents working on our behalf.

 Main responsibilities:

  •  To provide clerical support to the Team Leader and their Deputy dealing with all aspects of collection for Council Tax and Business Rates
  •  Within set guidelines, making arrangements with tax and rate payers both before and after summons stage and monitor payment arrangements accordingly
  •  Maximising the Council’s income and collection rate.
