East Staffordshire Family Support Service incorporating Harvey Girls and Dads4Dads is seen as the leading provider for family support within East Staffordshire, especially for young parents.
The charity has always been about supporting and making a difference to the lives of families and children. As part of our ongoing development this exciting opportunity has arisen to further strengthen our team.
Our charity currently provides holistic one to one support to families with children aged between 0 - 19 throughout East Staffordshire and this is enhanced by our group session-based support.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in working with young people, families and children. Applicants should have the passion and drive to provide family support. This role encompasses group and one to one work with families and a friendly, non-judgmental approach is essential. The Family Link Worker will also need to liaise closely with statutory and voluntary organisations and have an understanding of the needs of parents and their families.
We are looking for applicants who pride themselves on having excellent interpersonal, organisational, listening and time management skills. Initiative and assertiveness will also be key to your success. Applicants with enthusiasm, a real passion for the role and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
The role will include:
- Service delivery within a range of environments and settings which aim to engage and develop children and families from all backgrounds
- Providing a family support service across East Staffordshire within a group setting and within the home
- Liaising with partner agencies to offer support for clients
- Managing a caseload and having excellent reporting skills
- Working under your own initiative with excellent time management skills
- Having excellent communication skills with the ability to signpost service users to appropriate services
The hours of work are 37.5 hours a week based in Burton upon Trent and across East Staffordshire. Dependent on the role, occasional flexible working may be required between the hours of 8.00am and 8.00pm, Monday to Friday and may include some occasional evening and weekend work, where necessary.
Applicants must have use of their own car at all times, for which expenses are paid. A Disclosure and Barring Service check (Enhanced Level) and references will be required.
