Job Details

We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Procurement Policy, Systems and Governance Manager to join our our well-respected team who are responsible for providing a procurement service to Solihull Council and Solihull Community Housing.

Supporting delivery of the Council’s procurement strategy, you will be:

  • Ensuring commercial assurance and governance against our corporate approach.
  • Measuring and reporting performance against continuous improvement plans and KPIs.
  • Ensuring best practice for procurement, contract management, commercial change and improvement.
  • Ensuring the effective use of Procurement ICT Systems including Oracle Fusion, Atamis and SharePoint)
  • Lead in the management and delivery of procurement projects
  • Ensuring that the Council’s statutory obligations are met

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • A relevant degree (or equivalent) and CIPS professional qualifications (or the ability to demonstrate an equivalent knowledge of procurement legislation)
  • Experience of managing a related function at a senior level
  • Excellent working knowledge of Public Sector Procurement legislation
  • Experience of successfully managing change providing measurable service improvements.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures
  • Experience in the use and management of IT and large-scale Procurement software systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
