If so, we at Dudley Fostering Service would love to hear from you!

The Role

We're recruiting social workers in the Supervision and Support fostering team.

Dudley Fostering Service benefits from a stable, permanent management team. The team is dedicated to recruiting and assessing the very best carers to provide a warm and loving home for our children in care, once approved we are committed to ensuring that our foster carers receive high levels of professional social work supervision and support – something which our carers often tell us enables them to provide the very best caregiving to the children placed with them, in turn this helps our children in care to enjoy a happy childhood in which they can thrive!

Your role as a supervising social worker will be to assist the foster carer in their task of providing care to a child, who is often nonrelated, which will not only provide the child with a safe and secure environment but will also help to improve on the child’s life chances by promoting and supporting the individual outcomes for each child in the foster carers care.

As a supervising social worker, you will ensure the foster carer is provided with adequate social work and other professional support, information and guidance, as this will enable the foster carer to provide consistent, high-quality care for a child or young person placed in their home.

As a supervising social worker, your relationship with your allocated foster carers should be based within professional boundaries with a clear understanding that the primary responsibility is to the child in placement. You will undertake regular supervisions, attend regular meetings to support the foster carer and you will need to ensure that they are and continue to meet the National Minimum Standards 2011 and the Fostering Regulations 2011.
